Fresno county has the highest total treated acres of any California county through September of 2025. It is second in Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs) usage by treated acre. The total treated acres for PGRs in Fresno remain flat year over year since 2021 with a fluctuation of approximately +-8%. Valent, Stoller, and CPS are the top 3 firms in Fresno PGR treated acres as seen here:

Mepiquat is interesting as it is used exclusively on cotton while the other two are used on multiple crops, most notably tangerines and grapes. PROGIBB LV Plus Plant Growth Regulator Solution is mixed with other PGRs in ~2,800 acres while X-Cyte and Mepiquat have not been used in a tank-mix with other PGRs. This is due to the number of Grape treated acres that have PROGIBB applied include other PGRs. Why do grapes demand additional PGR applications?
